The 1000 is more about brute strength. But 600s these days have like 120 hp, which I would say go for the 1000 I have had a CBR600, a GSXR750, a CBR929, and currently an 06 R1. As they say power corrupts. Yes a 600 is easier in the tight twisty stuff but a liter bike doesn't give up much and when you open the throttle there is an instant thrill waiting for you.
